Senior/ Regular Java Developer

• Consistent track record of demonstrating initiative, collaboration, and strong teamwork. Furthermore, they will take direction and have a strong focus on delivery.
• Work in a team taking direction from others for assigned tasks and on some occasions leading individual tasks as part of a larger project.
• Build, release and support of application needs reworking to the new Development Cycle as well as new features which the business require.
• Enthusiastic about technology and show initiative when problem solving.

The successful candidate will need to be highly committed, and be able to build very close working relationships with both the business and support teams. They will have a strong focus on ownership and commitment to completing deliverable in a timely way. Experience of agile programming technologies will be an advantage.

Mandatory:

• Java senior developer (such as multithreading, collaborating services, messaging etc).
• Java unit testing, Maven, Jenkins or Teamcity continuous integration.
• Agile software development experience.
• Linux.
• SQL (preferably Oracle).
• Financial software development within a SOX compliant environment or equivalent - i.e. detailed Jira's and auditable change management process.
• Experience working on a multi-JVM enterprise java system with collaborating independent software components.

• Willing to join the support rota (within normal office hours) to provide level 3 support to the level 2 production services team (typically 1 week in 5).

• Excellent communication skills are required - the successful candidate will communicate across the regions.

• Fluent English.
• Strong team player prepared to take responsibility for tasks, and ownership of issues and you must be happy to support the production instances of the code you develop.

The team build, maintain and support the North American and European instances. We work closely with trade support, production support and the traders in these regions.

Application is used to calculate positions, risk, and profit and loss on a real-time basis. Traders rely on application to confirm their strategies are correctly being executed, and to optimally analyze their position profitability. We capture the high volume trade executions from many Order Management systems and maintain an Oracle database of these executions. The core of the application calculates the position, price information and PnL which are forwarded through aggregate and publisher components to the C# based GUI.
