Objectives for new candidates include:
- Designing effective architectural solutions to business problems
- Coordinating design activity across technical and functional subject matter experts
- Driving the development of applications to meet business requirements, and complying with market and company standards
- Ensuring strategic alignment with target end state, and for reviewing new technology adoption
Key skills required include:
- Strong experience as SW architect - minimum 7 years, Senior SW Architect - 3 years
- Strong experience in using design and documentation tools (e.g. Enterprise Architect, Visio)
- Ability to understand and describe key business functions in a financial or banking context, including articulating different approaches and tradeoffs
- Ability to define, document and promote medium and long term strategies for functional changes to applications
- Ability to identify pragmatic technical improvements within applications and drive these through to design and delivery.
- Ability to use variety of design and documentation tools.
- Excellent communication skills (English language skills to business standard) and the ability to interact effectively with team members located in the UK, the US and APAC
- Background in Java or C++ development, Oracle databases and strong knowledge of modern technology best-practice.
- Proven experience of the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, development, production deployment and maintenance.
