The Specialist Programmer II is primarily responsible for providing support to deliver technical programming and information components of low to medium scope and complexity projects. Successful candidate will act as a contributor on a cross-functional team, to deliver continuous improvement as part of the MOSAIC Biometrics Project, under the general direction and support of an experienced programmer. This role is a perfect opportunity for a passionate programming apprentice, willing to gain a broader perspective of the clinical development process, while being exposed to various functions, including but not limited to Programming, Statistics, Data Management and Clinical Data Standards.
- Apply computer science and information technology for the development and maintenance of medium/high complexity tools and related processes supporting the Biometrics analysis and innovation process.
- Support the development of programming standards/best practice or techniques to improve the quality, compliance and efficiency of deliverables for overall AZ programming community effectiveness.
- Support the development and implementation of policies, procedures and objectives for own work or team.
- Support evaluations of Biometrics tools and efficiencies in collecting different types of data and production of analysis.
- Support for the design, development and maintenance of single point Biometrics processes and tools supporting analysis and innovation.
- Ensure computer system validation compliance for tools to secure audit/inspection readiness.
- Lead quality of own deliverables and completeness of applicable quality and process documentation.
- Seek to acquire knowledge of computer science and/or information technology and or programming.
- BSc (or local equivalent) in Mathematics, Statistics, Informatics, Life or Social Sciences or equivalent experience.
- Some experience in SAS programming.
- Passion for programming and ability to quickly acquire new skills.
- High-level understanding of Data Management and Programming tasks within Clinical Development.
- Ability to apply problem solving techniques and quality mindset to low and medium complexity tasks.
- Understanding of compliance principles.
- High attention to detail.
- Good communication skills in both written and spoken English.
- Good collaboration skills.
- Understanding of various programming languages (e.g. R, Java, Groovy, Spotfire, C/C++, VBA/VBS, .NET, Python, Pearl) and familiarity with CDISC standards would be advantageous.
- Experience in project coordination across multiple stakeholders in a global environment.
