*- Analyse specifications
● Define user requirements for the development of new (or upgrade of existing) Splunk-based solutions.
*- Design Splunk solutions
● Design technical solutions and perform feasibility studies.
● Propose viable technical solutions to Splunk Development lead and/or users for validation.
● Develop Splunk configuration, knowledge objects to index new data sources, develop custom apps/dashboards
*- Test and maintain the solutions
● Conduct functional and performance tests to ensure a level of quality in line with Client requirements
● Participate in the validation phase of the development cycle, fine-tuning when necessary to finalize the solution.
● Support Splunk users by troubleshooting existing solutions, writing user guides, and procedures
*- Document work
● Produce software documentation necessary for the developed solutions
- English as intermediate\advance level
- Several years of experience as Splunk developer, ideally with a previous position supporting business / IT ops use cases in an IT company
- Strong knowledge of core Splunk features to index data (modular input development, DB Connect, pulling data through Web API, etc.) and implement knowledge objects (dataset, datamodel, reports, dashboards, apps, etc.)
- Scripting: PowerShell (mandatory), SQL (mandatory), Linux scripting (shell, Python) to interact with IT systems
- Working knowledge of Windows Operating System (client/server): core technical features, and how to gather relevant technical data
- Additional knowledge of Microsoft technologies to interact with application owners to identify data to be collected to implement use cases will be welcome
We are seeking candidates for the position of Regular Splunk Engineer for our client (worldwide leader providing software for the service and online booking in travel industry).The position will consist in contributing to the development of the big data initiative recently launched in Client's division to
improve quality and visibility of the Digital Workplace environment.
In that context, engineer will be in charge of custom development of Splunk-based solutions to gather relevant machine data
from Client's IT systems and conversion into meaningful information that can be directly used by service managers, application
owners, support teams to enable data-driven decision.
