SQL Database Administrator

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

•   Analysis of the delivered requirements and documentation of functional changes in products
•   Active acquisition of specialized knowledge ("business domain") related to logistic carrier modules and processes carried out by carriers
•   Acquire product knowledge for the solutions developed by the company as well as further transfer of product knowledge in the Software Development team
•   Developing skills related to relational databases (min. SQL Server) - database management, structure design, monitoring, query optimization
•   Developing skills related to non-relational databases
•   Designing and modifying the database structure in products
•   Monitoring and retrieving analytical data from production and test database servers
•   Optimizing structure and queries based on collected data
•   Check scripts and database queries written by other developers and provide code quality tips
•   Take additional initiatives to improve the quality and / or delivering process of software, to share knowledge (workshops, presentations, etc.).
•   Consulting customer support activities
•   Collaboration with Scrum Teams in accordance with the adopted process:
• Participation in meetings (sprint planning, daily meeting, sprint review, sprint retrospection, other required by the process)
• Estimation and execution of database related tasks resulting from analysis of notified requirements or finished design documents
• Verification of the quality of database developer tasks
•   Assesses database performance by developing a protocol for measurement of results and identification of problem areas
•   Supports database performance by monitoring database performance; evaluating and resolving processing and programming problems; designing database management tools; answering user questions
•   Secures database by preparing access and control policies and procedures

REQUIEREMENTS:

• Professional experience as a database programmer or database administrator
• Knowledge/experience of Microsoft’s SQL 2008, 2012, 2014 & 2016
• Knowledge about Microsoft and VMware technologies, DDL, DML, DQL, DCL
• Knowledge of Always On, Microsoft Clustering
• Good knowledge of version control mechanisms and about query optimization
• Fully understand the principles of agile team software development
• Ability to design and implement changes in relational database structure
• Good trouble shooting skills, analytical and service-minded attitude
• Very good English skills
