Tasks

• Acts as and is regarded as an SME authority for Storage and Backup area within Hosting Tower and will be assigned Storage services.
• Accountable for managing the technical quality, maintainability of infrastructure.
• Initiates proactive and reactive service improvements to ensure the quality of operational processes delivered by internal and external suppliers.
• Facilitates IS Supply in incident and problem management by acting as single point of contact at the functional/tactical level for the assigned infrastructure or applications for both colleagues and IS Supply and coordinating the input of the parties in finding solutions to incidents.
• Controls system functionality, optimization of infrastructure/application performance and operational services, according to agreed service levels (capacity, availability and performance).
• Budgets and monitors financial resources required to realize application/infrastructure quality, maintainability and compliance.
• Assesses and flags application/infrastructure in view of life cycle management and advises IS management accordingly.
• Collaborates with IS suppliers with regard to the operational implementation of outsourced activities and/or the current license usage, consistent with existing agreements.
• Conveys architecture, standards, policies, norms, and guidelines to IS Supply.
• Responsible for assessing and providing recommendations relating to trend analyses of incidents, working with the relevant IS Service Coordinators.
• Validates or initiates requests for change of corrective, adaptive, perfective or preventive nature.
• Validates proposals from internal/external IS suppliers from a technical perspective.
• Conducts IS impact analyses of requests for change in view of architecture, technical quality and maintainability of infrastructure.
• Assesses the effort for realizing changes by internal/external IS suppliers and advises IS management accordingly.
• Creates and/or approves technical specifications for changes based on functional as well as non-functional requirements and functional specifications.
• Conducts system tests and accepts/rejects deliverables based on technical specifications, and supports the business with execution of End User Acceptance tests.
• Accepts/rejects change deliverables including deployments based on technical specifications.
• Correlates information regarding incidents within an individual tower on an exceptional basis, identifying potential patterns and trends.
• Validates proposals from internal/external IS suppliers from a technical perspective.

Wymagania

Requirements

• Competence in spoken and written English
• Cultural awareness and the ability to work in a complex, multicultural and global team
• Experience of managing IS Hosting Services
• BSc with 6+ years of experience

Technical requirements

• Excellent knowledge of VTL, SAN and NAS technologies
• Excellent knowledge of D2D Backup technologies
• Excellent knowledge of FC SAN Switches
• Strong background in application and server virtualization
• Excellent knowledge of Backup technologies, processes and procedures
• Excellent knowledge of TSM Administration of release 5.x or higher
• Good knowledge of DR technologies and processes
