HRK ICT for a global FMCG company is recruiting a Storage & VMware System Analyst. Working in a virtual team the individual will be responsible for the design, configuration, optimization, monitoring and maintenance of hardware and software across a global organisation.
Storage & VMware System Analyst

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain/improve the technical Server/Storage architecture framework. Support the architecture, design, and implementation, and/or on-going support of an information systems enterprise.
- Identify the hardware components that the application will use for implementation and provide instruction on how to appropriately implement application components using the respective hardware.
- Proactively identify and capitalize upon opportunities to share/re-use existing components where possible.
- Performs system administration tasks for Enterprise Operations, including installation, upgrades, patches, performance monitoring, fault analysis, backup and recovery, security analysis, and capacity planning.
- Analyzes, designs, implements, tests, and monitors Hardware related projects.
- Assist in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
- Ability in working with the IT Leadership on budgetary matters (as part of recommendatory model).
- On-Call rotation - night and weekend support required.
- Support and manage escalation call tickets for team.
- Performance tuning and metrics of Applications and Systems.
- Perform System Admin activities as it relates to day to day responsibilities and project tasks.
- Participate as key member of Infrastructure projects.Assist in Developing, maintaining, and testing Disaster Recovery plans.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3-5 years experience as a Storage & VMware administrator in a production application support environment.
- Excellent knowledge of EMC /DELL hardware systems, especially Server line Power Edge.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Has to be able to work off hours to support implementations and operational problems.
- Experience working with vendors - placing service calls, working through problem resolution.
- Experience working with VMware team during designing new sites / provisioning on demand new storage/ DR tests.
- Skills in architecting forward-thinking solutions.
- Experience with patching storage firmware, ESX releases.
- Knowledge of Buffalo storage is desirable.
- Working experience with Storage Security and audits standards.
