- Diagnose, track and resolve issues on both technical and business level
- Maintain, enhance and improve existing environment settings, monitoring tools and scripts
- Continuously learn and improve own application and business knowledge
- Help analyzing and propose solutions for features requested by business users
- Provide reports on resolved incidents to both end users and internal knowledge base
- Experience in Linux environment
- Shell/Perl scripting
- Basic experience with SQL (Oracle)
- Very good spoken/written English
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to work in a dynamic and challenging work environment, occasionally under time constraints
Nice to have:
- Ability to understand code written in Java
- Basic experience with PL/SQL
- Business domain knowledge
The candidate will be responsible for maintaining a complex trading platform of a leading investment bank as a Level 3 Engineer.
The maintenance of the platform includes troubleshooting and investigation of any ongoing incidents, supporting internal users directly in both business and technical related issues, configuration of the services and performing releases.
The role includes supporting end users and co-operation with other levels of support and other work streams.
The candidate will also work as an analyst and an engineer on improving long term maintainability of the application (time permitting) and will work closely with the team as a business oriented member
and may also be asked to do business trips to Swiss headquaters.
