The TAM Systems Integration team requires a Systems Integration Engineer in EMEA
The candidate will be responsible for designing optimized infrastructure solutions for applications hosted within Credit Suisse. This will involve working closely with development staff and application architects, performing technical assessments of existing environments and working with vendors as necessary to understand the requirements of the application. The Systems Integrator is responsible for designing and documenting the infrastructure solution, calculating the costs, and justifying the solution sizing to the appropriate teams. Appropriate designs will conform to corporate standards, and utilize shared, hosted platforms where possible. All solutions must take into account the availability and security requirements of the application and address those in a cost-appropriate manner.
The successful candidate will be a recognized expert in several technologies including Linux, Solaris, and Windows. Candidate should also have a solid understanding across a broad range of other infrastructure technologies including storage and networks. The candidate should possess an interest in improving their understanding of all technical areas. Strong communication and presentation skills are essential. The role is an excellent opportunity to work alongside business and development managers across the Firm, to learn the portfolio of business applications at Credit Suisse and to play a key part in the design and rollout of future infrastructure solutions.
- Produce detailed documentation describing the solution design, including the technical implementation details, and cost estimates.
- Ensure justification is sufficient to pass internal technical and financial review.
- Document the implementation details in a set of work orders to enable the solution to be built correctly the first time.
- Perform consultancy engagements with application teams or business units to make recommendations on long term planning and help them to understand the direction of the CS IT organization.
- Perform or assist in performing environment analyses where there have been issues with performance or availability.
Essentials Skills and Qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge of clustering, database, and other associated enterprise technologies.
- Solid understanding of high availability and disaster recovery solution designs as required by a regulated financial institution.
- Experience with hardware server technologies, particularly HP Proliant. Cross-platform operating system experience is highly desirable.
- Thorough knowledge of virtualization technologies particularly VMWare ESX server.
- Understanding of SAN technologies and storage replication.
- Understanding of networking principles including routing, and basic protocols including multicast.
- Ability to understand server utilization statistics, identify bottlenecks and translate application load requirements into server utilization projections.
- At least 5-10 years server support, engineering, or solution design experience.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related disciplines is strongly preferred
- Mature understanding of financial markets and fundamental business principles and drivers.

The role is within the Technology Account Management (TAM) organization in Group Chief Technology Officer. TAM Project Delivery and System Integration are horizontal functions that span across all three account management towers that serve as key relationship managers for their allocated divisions and functions. TAM Switzerland is responsible for Swiss UB, IWM, Risk & Finance and GCTO; TAM Americas is responsible for Group Ops, CST, GM and IBCM; the third TAM is responsible for APAC. We partner with our clients in identifying and delivering infrastructure services that are cost effective and strategically aligned with the business goals.

The role is within the Technical Account Management ('TAM') organization of GCTO. The Systems Integration team is a group of technologists within the horizontal TAM organization with expertise in key infrastructure areas - Windows server, UNIX, Database, Networks, Enterprise Storage, Web Services - and strong general IT knowledge.
The team acts as an authoritative system design group and covers 4 main areas:
- Technical understanding of the infrastructure technology supporting our key applications
- Supporting the Application Development book of work
- Maintaining technical relationships between infrastructure teams
- Technical relationships with application developers.
Each team member has a high level of interaction with developers, engineering and support managers.
