Purpose
The Systems Specialist position is responsible for the support and troubleshooting of Microsoft Windows Server installations, configurations, and support of the distributed Microsoft Operating System platform for International Paper.
The primary supported environment will consists of approximately 200+ enterprise infrastructure servers located at the company’s EMEA facilities. Support is also provided for application servers at the sites in EMEA and other regions (APAC, South America).
- Support Windows Server enterprise and distributed implementations
- Monitor system backups on daily basis
- Monitor the operation/performance of the OS, monitor hardware and initiate hardware repairs
- Support and troubleshoot/resolve issues
- Bachelor or Technical degree
- MCSE Strongly Preferred
- Expert knowledge with Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2012 OS
- Knowledge of common enterprise applications and services (Active Directory, WINS, DNS etc.)
- In-depth knowledge of Intel server hardware platforms, storage, backup etc.
- Windows server 2008 and/or Windows Server 2012 MCSE preferred
- Knowledge of Citrix and/or VMWare technology will be an advantage
- Enterprise server administration experience
- Network related experience for troubleshooting purposes
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
