Job Description

The Technical Content Development Leader is responsible for leading and managing the team that develops and maintains technical product training assets for Motorola Solutions’ public safety and private broadband systems. This leader will oversee the full development life cycle of content development and maintenance projects, development processes, strategy, and tools/technology. This role will work closely with other teams and organizations in the Learning organization and throughout Motorola Solutions to facilitate, promote and grow the business. The Technical Content Development Leader will be responsible for supervising, managing and motivating team members on a daily basis.

Basic Requirements

 

Basic Requirements:

  • Directly manage a technical content design and development team of individual contributors. 
  • Ensure company brand materials meet company standards.
  • Drive quality standards and development-related processes.
  • Allocation of job tasks (close cooperation with the program managers on distributing the workload within the team and setting priorities for all ongoing projects with clear deadlines.)
  • Set and oversee individual and team goals.
  • Oversee day-to-day operation.
  • Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture.
  • Oversee day-to-day operation.
  • Monitor team performance and report on metrics.
  • Discover training needs and provide feedback and coaching.
  • Listen to team members’ feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts.
  • Recruiting, hiring, and supporting new team members.
  • All other requisite tasks associated with line management.

Specific Knowledge / Skills

  • Resource management and planning.
  • Understand and utilize formal program management practices.
  • Exhibit change management and governance skills.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of learning content development (technical writing and/or training development), methodologies, and delivery methods.

Tools

  • Sound understanding of tools used to track projects.
  • Strong understanding of learning development, delivery, and management.
  • Strong understanding Content Management Systems, Learning Management Systems, eLearning and Technical Communication.
  • Google collaboration tools.
