- Liaise with consumers of the monitoring to determine requirements
- Active involvement in projects to ensure development of additional monitoring needs from application teams
- Determine priority of tasks and work through backlog
- Ensure the health of the monitoring application and it's agents
- Installation of monitoring probes
- Reviewing and amending alerting thresholds
- Capacity management for monitoring system
- Development of dashboards and views for Support, Management and Application teams
- Ensuring the correct metrics are being captured for department reporting
- Work related with extension and alignment of monitoring suite to future needs
Administrator level experience of Operating systems
Solaris, HP-UX, Linux, AIX or Windows,
Excellent scripting ability, especially in the area of system management tools,
UNIX shell scripting - advanced level.
Knowledge of databases (basic/intermediate)
Oracle, Sybase, MySQL, MS SQL,
Connectivity and the creation of SQLs.
Scripting
Rake - nice to have,
Powershell - nice to have,
VB - nice to have,
Perl or Python - desirable/basic.
Tools (desirable/basic)
Subversion,
Team City,
Jira,
