We are looking for an employee for the position of
Barge Captain (M/F)
Location: Szczecin
Job description
- Ensuring proper and safe navigation by inland barge within the Netherlands and internationally – Rhine area.
- Carriage of technical oil (not being dangerous cargo).
- Communicating with other shipping traffic and sectors.
- Bearing co-responsibility for ship repair policy, administration and staff planning aboard the vessel.
Requirements
- MBO (intermediate vocational education) or HBO (higher vocational education) level of working and thinking.
- Experience as a captain in inland navigation is definitely an advantage.
- Good communication skills in Dutch, German and English.
- Problem-solving way of thinking.
- Knowledge of and adherence to Inland Waterways Police Regulations and Rhine Police Regulations.
- In possession of a radar patent (radar navigation certificate), commercial vessels master’s certificate, Rhine patent (Rhine navigation license), ADN certificate and VHF certificate.
