As a Citrix Engineer you will serve as the strategic desktop virtualization subject matter expert providing advice and direction to users, management and IT project teams. The primary responsibility of this position is supporting Citrix XenDesktop and Xenapp environments. Responsibilities include design, deployment, implementation, integration and administration of a desktop virtualization environment, including provisioning server and NetScaler ADC. Further responsibilities include deployment, implementation and integration of applications on Client OS as well, including App-V and SCCM. This position has the ability to demonstrate breadth of knowledge across multiple areas of information technology. As a Citrix Engineer you will serve as a key team member involved in strategic planning, enterprise-wide technology projects and issue resolutions. Although we fit under a large organization the team based in Zürich is rather small so therefore for this role also apply certain task that fall under the first level support.
- Responsible for delivery of Citrix XenApp / XenDesktop architecture including: installation, configuration, performance and stability.
- Manages, maintains supports, troubleshoots, and optimizes any Citrix solution presently in place while making suggestion and adjustments to needs in the future.
- Manages, maintains, supports and troubleshoots Windows 10 Clients
- Establishes and defines automated system installation/configuration procedures.
- Follows standard change management process.
- Manages/maintains relationships with partners/vendors, including vendor product license/support agreements.
- Establishes best practices for monitoring and forecasting of system/application capacity.
- Defines product/solution strategy and roadmap.
- Manages, maintains supports, troubleshoots, and optimizes any Citrix solution presently in place while making suggestion and adjustments to needs in the future.
- Works closely with service delivery and operations to ensure quality, standards and goals are met.
- Maintains knowledge base for all implementations on best practice procedures for Citrix and related infrastructures.
- Good Knowledge and experience with Citrix server build standards, automation and provisioning.
- Good Knowledge of DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, GPO, and LDAP.
- Good Knowledge of Citrix ADC, former Netscaler
- Good Knowledge of Microsoft OS platform, Server and Client
- Good Skillset of Authentication (PKI), Smart Card or other means: SSON
- Good Knowledge and understanding of Citrix and Windows patch management, session printing and Citrix policies.
- Ability to communicate complex concepts in simple form to cross-functional departments or teams.
- Systems engineering skills with an emphasis on enterprise scale architecture using Citrix virtualization as well as common distribution, SCCM and App-V.
- Good Knowledge of application packaging, integration and distribution.
- Good Knowledge in scripting, PowerShell
