Essential duties
Design & document system architecture solutions
Gain an in depth understanding of our various database hosting platform offerings.
Serve as the System Technical Design Authority. This will involve understanding existing platforms/solutions and design of new systems/services and interfaces to wider technology fabric.
To consider applicable software and security standards and policies and to incorporate these in designs
To lead the technical input into conceptual designs, assist with estimating and provide input to project plans
To lead supplier identifications (internal & external) for new systems, services and products and to assess whether their solutions are appropriate and fit for purpose.
Lead technical project governance
To identify risks associated with designs and decisions and to communicate these to stakeholders in collaboration with product management
Escalate major technical issues to head of department
Lead design workshops that will involve various internal and external stakeholders.
Contribute to the development of System and Service roadmaps
Education
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
Required Essential Skills/Experience/Knowledge
- Demonstrate experience in technical and solutions architecture design on large complex database systems involving multiple interfaces
- Experience of complex integration projects involving multiple technologies & suppliers (both internal & external)
- Solid technical background and involvement in the full SDLC for large systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science or related discipline
- 5+ years database engineering experience in Oracle/MSSQL Demonstrate experience in technical and solutions architecture design on large complex database systems involving multiple interfaces
