The Loan Exposure Management Group is intended to provide dynamic management of the loan portfolio at Investment Bank and to introduce a more rigorous approach to measuring all of the costs of lending including the cost of hedging. The rationale behind this is that CIB should dynamically manage its credit exposure with the aim of considerably reducing loan losses due to default. CIB should aim to maximise relationship benefits while managing credit risk.
