In this role you will:
- work closely with the Product Owner and other stakeholders to analyse stories and define acceptance criteria that are automatable
- further the wider understanding and knowledge of agile testing within the department and more widely through communities of practice
- conduct exploratory testing alongside developers within sprints to ensure the highest quality standards
- assist the Product Owner by demonstrating new functionality at the end of sprint demonstrations
- white-box and back-box automated testing using JUnit, JBahave and Concordion
- idially help with Java development
For this role we are looking for a automation testing specialist who has a proven track record of testing within an agile environment.
- familiar with agile testing concepts, such as the Agile Testing Quadrant, Agile Testing Pyramid
- understands the different approaches to Agile Testing including appropriate automated and manual testing
- understands the transition of business requirements into acceptance criteria using techniques such as "Specification by Example" and "Behaviour Driven Development"
- passionate about testing in an agile and value centric manner
- eager to learn from and contribute to the IT community
- understand the importance of the business domain within automated tests
- able to help both technical and business stakeholders build out effective acceptance criteria
- able to assess and mitigate delivery risk through varied testing approaches
- keen to coach and mentor teams in improving their testing approaches
- clear about the distinction between traditional QA and agile testing
To be a successful candidate you will have:
- a proven track record of testing and coaching within a true agile environment
- excellent communication skills
- an ability to converse with business users and technical staff on all matters
- experience with exploratory testing techniques
- experience with automated testing techniques (Java)
