IBM is looking for an experienced Software QA Engineer to test our platform suite of applications. Software QA Engineers test code at the user level, both manually and with automated tools. Our Software QA Engineers use manual and automated testing techniques; they are able to understand software internals, debug problems using log files, and write automated tests using Selenium. Software QA Engineers work with Software Development Engineers to understand features and technical implementation. Software QA Engineers also work with groups across the business such as Product Owners, User Experience Design to understand customer usage models and develop test plans and test suites that approximate real-world environments and regression tests. Software QA Engineers are also responsible for driving the software development process toward quality-centric methodologies. Possibility to work flexibly and/or remotely from home. Note: As you will be working directly with team in US and Brazil working time is adjusted to US time zone.
- Development and execution of test cases for specific feature areas
- Work with a team of quality engineering professionals to ensure the highest quality product delivery
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience
- Experience of Software testing, QA methodologies, tools and test process
- Experience with release procedures and software defect tracking, preferably Jira
- You are not afraid to learn from mistakes and share them with the team
- You approach conflict in a constructive manner and help to identify root causes of problems, offer corrective actions, and participate in the solutions
- Experience validating high quality consumer facing applications
- Automation with Selenium, Python scripting, solid Linux skills
- Mobile QA skills like Appium, services
- Experience with automated test frameworks
- Experience with tools like Jenkins, Git, JIRA
- Understand technical specifications and analyze log files
- Experience working closely with development to communicate problem impacts
