As a System Administrator within this team your key responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining operational stability and minimising downtime through proactive improvements, problem management and problem solving;
Maintaining risk management for the environment and ensuring key controls are implemented;
Implementation of lifecycle strategy of core Infrastructure and the wider server estate;
- The resolution of escalated, complex and urgent issues, incidents and requests;
- Collaborating with Engineering, Global Service Delivery Management and other support teams to provide the best solutions;
- Lead and participate in Infrastructure projects and key activity such as Business Continuity Management, Site Power-downs, and Infrastructure change weekends as well as Change projects such as Technology refresh programs and Audit & Security remediation;
- Some on-call and weekend work coverage.
You are:

You have:
- At least 5 years' experience in supporting UNIX based distributed computing environment with large enterprise of servers;
- A background in the financial industry in not mandatory but will be an advantage;
- Solid understanding of UNIX-based operating systems for both Redhat Linux and Solaris are required;
- Knowledge of virtualisation technologies, such as VMWare Solaris Zones;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Solid understanding of setup and diagnostics of Clustering, filesystems and storage management technologies;
- Good familiarity of Infrastructure technologies including NIS, NFS, RHN, Jumpstart, Puppet and DNS;
- The ability to write effective scripts in at least one scripting or shell language is required. More in-depth scripting and programming capabilities will be an advantage.
You'll be working within the regional Level 3 Unix team operating out of Poland and based in one of the Polish sites. The regional Level 3 team itself operates across all regions and is an integral part of the global support model providing world class Service Operations capabilities to all lines of business. The Unix team is part of the Compute organisation within Service Operations/Infrastructure Services and collaborate closely with the other Compute and Infrastructure functional teams covering Storage, Wintel, Virtual, Database and Networks
