- Lead/participate and support Infrastructure projects as necessary
- Third Level Support of Sun Solaris and Red Hat Linux distributed server environment liaising with
regional and global counterparts
- Day to day maintenance and support of Core Infrastructure technologies including
NIS/DNS/Jumpstart/Licensing as well as the development and implementation of lifecycle
strategy
- Liaise with Engineering and Global Service Delivery Management on solutions and requirements
- Understand business priorities; adequately prioritize work accordingly to meet business
objectives
- Drive for improvements and implement them in regional or global scale
- Communicate and collaborate with other internal partners for designing, planning and
coordinating for implementation and ensure work is completed in a timely manner
- You will be expected to drive the execution of innovative solutions
- Write technical documentations for related infrastructure and installs which will include, but not
limited to, the following technologies:
OS: Redhat Linux, OEL, Oracle Solaris, MacOS
Virtualisation: Solaris Zones, VMWare
Clustering: RAC, Sun Cluster, VCS, RHCS
Filesystem: LVM, ZFS, Volume Manager, Disksuite, OCFS
Technologies: Secure NFS, OEM, Puppet, RHN, Naming Servers
HW: Sun Fire and enterprise product line, Fujitsu series, HP BL/DL series, IBM Blades, Dell,
ODAs,
Exadata and SAN/NAS storage
- Ad hoc /on-call support during weekdays and weekends is required.
- At least 5 years' experience in supporting UNIX based distributed computing environment with
large enterprise of servers.
- Prior industry experience is not mandatory, though will be considered favourably
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Solid understanding of UNIX-based operating systems both Redhat Linux and Solaris 8/10
- Knowledge of virtualisation technologies, such as Vmware Solaris Zones
- Upper intermediate English
Expected skills set should include the following products:
- Veritas foundation suite
- Veritas Cluster Server
- Redhat Cluster Server
- Sun cluster
- Ability to write scripts in administrative languages (for examples. BASH, Tk, Perl, ksh, sh, csh,
SQL)
- Familiarity with fundamental networking / distributed computing and storage environment
concepts and technologies - LAN, WAN, routing protocols, NFS, DNS, NIS, LDAP, SAN, NAS, Fibre
Channel, etc.
Act as Subject Matter Expert on Solaris 10 and RedHat Enterprise Linux 5/6 Operating systems and related Infrastructure to support L3 support activities.
