Effective English is a language school for children and teenagers, created out of a need to teach in a different way from the traditional school system.
- they feel safe
- they have a real relationship with their teacher
- they speak and use the language instead of only filling in exercises
- they are treated as people, not as a syllabus to complete
We don’t teach from coursebooks and we don’t teach from behind a desk.
Our lessons are active, based on interaction, and focused on real communication.
- works together
- talks openly about what works and what doesn’t
- isn’t afraid to admit mistakes
- keeps improving how we teach children
We are not a corporate language school.
We are a small, growing school where people and values matter as much as results.
- teaching English to children and teenagers in small, friendly groups
- speaking English throughout the lesson
- following our lesson plans and adapting them to suit the group in front of you
- preparing for classes (yes, there is prep — we don’t wing it)
- doing after-class admin (lesson notes, attendance, quick reflections)
- taking part in regular Friday meetings with the team
- helping create a calm, safe atmosphere where kids feel comfortable speaking
- no travelling between students
- no hunting for students or filling your own schedule
- no chasing payments or handling finances
- no ongoing parent communication about organisation
You teach.
You prepare.
You’re part of a team — not on your own.
- You are a Native Speaker of English and you teach English to children and teenagers, mostly in small groups.
You prepare for your classes, use our lesson plans and adjust them when needed (we treat lesson plans as a guide, not a script). - Some levels don’t have ready-made lesson plans yet, so you’ll create them yourself.
If you already work as a private tutor, this shouldn’t be a problem :-) - After classes, you do simple admin: lesson notes, attendance and short reflections.
You also take part in Friday team meetings — they’re part of the job, not an optional extra.
This works best for someone who enjoys being close to the group, not hidden behind a desk.
Our lessons are active and full of interaction. You talk with the students, move around the room and respond to what’s actually happening in front of you. It’s not about worksheets — it’s about the children in the room.
- you want your students to feel safe, understood and able to learn.
So you prepare.
You think about what your group needs.
When something doesn’t work, you try another way.
When you’re not sure, you ask for help instead of pretending everything is fine.
You care about growing as a teacher, not about being perfect.
- take their work seriously, but don’t make it heavy
- put students first before their own ego
- enjoy learning from other teachers
- like being part of a team rather than working alone
This probably isn’t the right place for you if you’re looking for something low-effort or automatic.
It also won’t feel right if you prefer staying behind a desk instead of working with children, or if you’re not really curious about how kids learn and develop.
We care more about how you teach and how you work than about certificates.
You work in one place, with a fixed timetable — no travelling between students, no running around the city.
We give you ready groups of students.
You don’t look for them, you don’t recruit them, you don’t negotiate schedules.
- payments
- contracts
- parents about organisation
- filling your own timetable
We handle all of that.
- lesson structure and materials
- support when something doesn’t work with a group
- a team instead of working on your own
- clear rules and clear expectations
We like things organised and predictable:
you know when you work, who you teach and what’s expected of you.
- wants to teach, not run their own mini business
- and is tired of chaos that comes with private tutoring.
We kindly inform we will contact only selected candidates.

Effective English is a language school for children and teenagers, created out of a need to teach in a different way from the traditional school system.
The school was built on the belief that children learn languages best when:
– they feel safe
– they have a real relationship with their teacher
– they speak and use the language instead of only filling in exercises
– they are treated as people, not as a syllabus to complete
We don’t teach from coursebooks and we don’t teach from behind a desk.
Our lessons are active, based on interaction, and focused on real communication.
We are a team that:
– works together
– talks openly about what works and what doesn’t
– isn’t afraid to admit mistakes
– keeps improving how we teach children
