Our client is a UK subsidiary of a global financial house working in multiple markets and asset classes.
About the project: We are looking to expand our team with a Lead Workspace Delivery Engineer who will be supporting the operational delivery of the Client's Virtual Desktop Estate and its associated services.
Within the role you will provide 3rd line support, infrastructure delivery, BAU and project based work across the enterprise. You will support IT incidents, effectively managing technical and business based communication and ensuring that route cause analysis and effective resolution is delivered. You will enable infrastructure strategy to be realized via information and knowledge sharing with other infrastructure team members as well as architects.
Stakeholder management will play an important part of the role as will involvement in long-term projects requiring you to be a subject matter expert in your area of technology with a proven capability to advise and consult.

About working environment: Our team primary locations are Kyiv, Warsaw. We are working remotely in client environment. Currently the team operates fully in WFH mode.
- Provides specialist guidance and some supervision to less experienced colleagues. Analyses work in progress, takes action to ensure targets are met within safety and quality procedures, including hand-over to client where appropriate.
- Initiates action to maintain or improve installation procedures and standards within area of authority, recognizing issues that need to be escalated.
- Ensures that network management systems and appropriate performance analysis equipment and diagnostic tools are used to test the hardware and/or software affected, and quantify and qualify changes made.
- Plays a leading role in scheduling installation work, liaising with all concerned to ensure that installation priorities are met and disruption to the organisation is minimized.
- Assists with preparation of software implementation procedures with fall back contingency plans. Installs and tests new versions of system software.
- Investigates potential and actual service problems and recommends solutions. Follows formal procedures to plan and test proposed solutions.
- Prepares and maintains operational documentation for relevant system software products. Advises systems development and service delivery staff on the correct and effective use of system software.
- Gathers performance statistics from the IT platforms to enable recommendations for the tuning of system software. Applies system software parameters to maximize throughput and efficiency.

- Ability to coach and mentor others to address day to day faults ranging from user maintenance and desktop performance to high visibility faults impacting many users.
- Experience using Backup & Restore tools and diagnosis of backup failures to identify permanent resolutions for reoccurring faults.
- Can create instructions or follow agreed plans to deliver hardware and/or software change. Documents actions required for simple and complex problems, confirms correct functionality of hardware and software installations, coaching others where required and advises supervisor and, if appropriate, users of progress.
- Identifies areas where improved management information can protect the delivery of service and works with others to define processes to routinely collect information and records. Reports and escalates unforeseen or exceptional events.
- Documents all work to comply to the standards, including reporting details of all hardware/software items that have been installed / decommissioned.
- Experienced supporting application and infrastructure servers in a large scale corporate environment including experience of supporting at least one current operating system environment.
- Planning own work and the work of others (including third parties) to ensure delivery to time and cost.
- Experienced in working in a high pressure environment to deliver a first class BAU Service.
