Responsibilities:
- Is responsible for fulfilling the implied contract of the interface description and life-cycle management (e.g. versioning)
- Ensures that the design is in line with BU CTO architecture according to federated architecture model
- Ensures that design decisions are appropriately documented and communicated
- Manages dependencies and attempts to keep unnecessary dependencies as low as possible
- Provides the technology-neutral and the technology-specific IT solution
- Liaise with ADA of associated application domain for matters that involve more than one application system
- Ensures standardization according to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) definitions and other client standards
Tasks:
- Defines the structure of an application system within the constraints of the requirements, BU CTO architecture, SDLC and deployment context. The resulting set of hierarchically decomposed front-end and back-end components along with their interactions forms the basis for further elaboration by designers.
- Defines layering of business logic ("Business Services" and "Business Entities/Objects") and how the layers will be distributed over logical deployment nodes while applying sound software engineering principles and considering non-functional aspects
- Reviews and analyzes the requirements regarding their degree of detail, completeness (functional, nonfunctional, quality of service aspects) and feasibility as part of the requirements review
- Discusses feasibility of different design proposals and trade-offs made, their relative strengths, weaknesses, risks, implied costs (CTB and RTB), 'fitness for purpose', re-use, with service domain architects, peers, PMs
Authorities:
- Defines the architecture based on the given functional and nonfunctional requirements and by using the prescribed e2e reference architectures, technologies and design patterns.
- Approves software documentation at final acceptance testing
- Approves design proposals
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Math or Physics or a technical field.
- Over fifth years' experience designing and architecting security solutions, preferably within the financial services.
- Solid skill set of Unix/Linux and/or Windows Server platforms including clustering and failover configurations
- Very solid background in IT engineering with a specialization in IT security services, Authentication and Cryptography technologies (Single SignOn, PKI, HSM)
- Team player with excellent coordination and communication skills, and experience working within complex international organisations.
- Pro-active and self-driven to overcome challenges, achieve results and deliver to deadlines.
