In this role you will be responsible for all activities related to Upstream process development and USP laboratory operation based on solid scientific and engineering knowledge. You will be a mentor for more junior team members as well.
- Executing USP experiments according to planned schedules and follow the current quality standards
- Mentoring more junior team members in technical and scientific issues related to USP
- Operation of Eppendorf, Sartorius and Thermofisher Bioreactor Systems
- Maintaining the assigned laboratory equipment up to date and in operation state following the internal maintenance and service policies
- Planning optimization experiments
- Troubleshooting and supporting process development
- Close cooperation with other teams e.g. MS&T and Production departments
- Lead a team of up to 5 members when required for specific experiments
- Representing the group and Polpharma Biologics during external conferences and events when required
- University degree (Ph.D. on bioprocess engineering, engineering sciences, biotechnology is highly desirable)
- of 5 years in mammalian cell culture for mAbs production
- Experience with biosimilars (desirable)
- Perfect understanding of Good Documentation Practices
- Working knowledge of scaling up / down of bioprocesses
- Experience with DoE planning, execution and interpretation
- Good knowledge of statistics
- Good understanding and knowledge of Bioreactor systems and their control systems
- Experience with SCADA / Delta V systems is desirable
- Fluency in written and spoken English
