DUTIES
- Ensuring quality, performance, and security of database design of customer’s own developments
- Undertaking day-to-day database administration activities to support the projects
- Providing advice and support for IS projects regarding all aspects of database development
- Ability to work with relational, NoSQL, and time series technologies
- Assisting with the set-up of frameworks for the customer database service
- Undertaking ad hoc operational support tasks for pre-production environments
- Design and implementation support of database solutions with all project teams
- Setting up quality assurance processes for database development
- Migration of data sets to support new application demands
- Work directly with developers in SCRUM methodology
REQUIREMENTS
- Proficiency in database design, implementation, administration, and performance optimization
- Strategic and detail understanding of major database products
- Time Series Data bases, like OpenTSBD or cassandra
- Opensource systems such as Postgres and MySQL
- Oracle technology and MS SQL Server technology
- Knowledge in logical and physical database design and data modeling
- Experience of data warehouse design principles
- Ability to solve systems and process issues
- Familiarity with configuration management and software release procedures
- Appreciation of general technical concepts (e.g. Networking protocols, Windows and Linux server products, Back-up and recovery, Storage, IT Security)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Business Fluent in English
