Job description
Do you want to be part of developing the infrastructure on and around future IKEA sites in both urban and rural locations? Do you have a passion for finding new solutions for creating easier and more convenient access for our customers? Then we are looking for you!
The journey ahead to lead expansion is very exciting. We aim to create better access for the many people, the challenges with urbanisation and a changing retail environment that will put more demands on the future IKEA stores. Our contribution is to create a better meeting with the customer and still have a consistent perception of the IKEA Brand.
A Traffic Specialist at Store Design and Retail Architecture supports the development of the infrastructure on and around IKEA sites in urban and rural locations, for new store establishments and major rebuilding projects around the world.
You will work with the design of parking areas and roads around the stores to secure traffic capacity, safety and efficiency for visitors coming with all modes of transport, with an interest of creating an inspiring outdoor environment. You will also participate in the continuous development of traffic, parking and mobility management within the company.
You will work with architects and specialists, local retailers and external consultants. You will use hand sketches, ArchiCAD and Microsoft Office to communicate and explain your solutions.
Requirements
Is this the right challenge for you?
We are looking for a multi-disciplinary traffic engineer, preferably with several years of experience. It is an
advantage if you have worked with traffic related issues in a retail environment.
Since IKEA cooperates with people all over the world, you are comfortable with a multicultural environment
and to speak and write in English. You are also prepared to travel.
You are socially skilled and find it easy to build relations and earn trust. You have good communicative
skills and show enthusiasm, drive and determination in what you do. You also take responsibility for actions and results and make things happen. Naturally, you are also contributing to the company’s shared vision by being non-prestigious, open and straightforward when cooperating with others. Furthermore, you are cost-conscious and know that everything has its price.
