There certainly will be routine tasks in this role. So you’ll need to be structured and always on top of things. To enjoy this job, you need to like checking off to-do's from the to-do list, making sure you didn't miss small details and follow processes.
At the same time, you’ll tackle different projects and challenges.
You’ll be involved in some of the backbone operations of the business (newsletters, website, our events, magazine administration, client support, etc.).
The company you’ll be joining has been around since 1989 (which is older than most of our team members, btw). Executives and professionals across the international pet industry love our magazine and online publication. These publications are their go-to sources of information and inspiration.
Operations Assistant
Location: Remote
What you’ll do:
- You'll be responsible for updating our website with the latest news stories, events, companies, etc.
- You'll help assemble the newsletter (copying headlines/intros and placing client banners)
- You'll handle invoicing and other administrative tasks
- You'll follow (and improve) our elaborate process docs
- You'll accurately add new company data to our website database and CRM
- You’ll manage, execute and report on our clients advertising campaigns (like banners, email campaigns, etc.)
- You'll perform a variety of other administrative tasks
IMPORTANT
This is an administrations-heavy role. Because we are a media company, some of the tasks you are involved with have a marketing angle to it. But the core of the job is more administrative than a marketing role.
To be successful, you really need a strong eye for detail. Because your tasks are critical in the success of many things we do, not losing track of critical steps and details is paramount.
What you bring to the table:
- A background in operations, marketing assistant roles
- Strong attention to detail
- You enjoy working with to-do lists and have excellent project management/organizational skills so nothing skips your attention
- Excited about making efficient, organized processes to improve workflows
- Strong business acumen and a good overall understanding of how businesses work
- Experience level: 1-3 years of professional business experience
- Highly proficient (or native-level) in English
Nice to haves:
- Experience with Sketch/Photoshop/... and updating websites or landing page builders
- Familiarity with email marketing software
- Experience with billing and invoicing
